Many, many industry analysts have speculated on what Apple would eventually produce to push into the crowded mobile phone market. The final product might possibly be the most perfect culmination of all the speculation, desires, and needs of every Apple fan and Apple speculator over the last several years. µ

FINTEL finally decided to introduce their own broadband service. Currently, FINTEL sells bandwidth from the Southern Cross Fibre-optic cables to ISPs in Fiji (Unwired Fiji and Connect) and as a result the prices are high. Hopefully with their own ISP, FINTEL will be able to provide faster and cheap internet and data servives. Named Kidanet (pronounced as ‘keen-da-net’) ; meaning a new dawn (or sometthing like that). FINTEL has chosen the WiMAX wireless standard for their network. While details are sketchy, FINTEL has partnered with Alvarion, using their WiMAX Certified™ platform: BreezeMAX™. The equipment is said to be provided through Paclink, an Australian based I.T. company who is also a partner of Alvarion. Here is the press release on the Paclink website.

In the past, it was that one throne is too small for two capable kings. LG Electronics has disproved this by introducing a combo drive that can play both HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs. Heres the full story:
LG Electronics announced Wednesday that they plan to sell a DVD player that will be able to play both rivaling high-definition DVD formats. This will be the first dual-format DVD player to support both HD-DVD and Blu-ray.
The player will be unveiled at next week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, further details on the player and details on pricing and availability will also become available then.
HD-DVD and Blu-ray have been battling for market share since their introduction last year. Both are expected to get a boost this year as more studios release films in the formats and more players become available.
But there is one mayor problem, the two formats are incompatible, forcing consumers to choose. Studios and electronics makers have said the resulting format war would delay widespread adoption of high-def DVDs, which contain sharper images and extra features not possible with standard definition discs.
LG Electronics will try to solve this problem with it’s new DVD player, you no longer have choose between the two competing high-definition disc formats, you can play both.
